Guiding Star Insurance is an independent insurance agency in Jackson, Tennessee. We help individuals, families, and businesses understand their coverage, compare their options, and make informed decisions without turning insurance into something more complicated than it needs to be.
OUR AGENCY
We built the kind of agency we would want to work with.
Insurance can become transactional very quickly. A quote comes in, a policy gets issued, and years can pass without anyone stepping back to ask whether the coverage still makes sense.
Guiding Star was built around a different idea: an insurance agency should be useful before, during, and after the sale. That starts with understanding the person or business behind the policy instead of treating the application as the whole story.
We take the time to explain what the coverage does, where the tradeoffs are, and how the different pieces fit together. Sometimes that leads to a different carrier or a different policy. Sometimes it means telling you that what you already have is worth keeping.
The goal is not more insurance. It is insurance that makes sense.

Good coverage starts with better questions.
Before we recommend coverage, we want to understand what you are protecting, what has changed, what concerns you, and what you expect your insurance to do when something goes wrong.
Listen first
Your home, vehicles, family, business, responsibilities, and priorities provide context that a quote screen cannot. We want to understand the situation before we start recommending solutions.
Explain clearly
Insurance already has enough terminology. We explain what a policy does, where its limits are, and what tradeoffs you are making in language that is useful outside the insurance industry.
Compare thoughtfully
Price matters, but it is only part of the decision. We also look at limits, deductibles, policy terms, carrier fit, and how one policy may affect another.
Stay involved
The relationship should not end when the policy is issued. When life or business changes, we want you to have someone you can call to talk through what changed and what it may mean.

Guiding Star Insurance represents multiple insurance companies rather than working for a single carrier. That gives us more than one place to look when your needs, pricing, or circumstances change.
Different insurance companies are better fits for different households and businesses. Coverage, underwriting, pricing, and the kinds of risks each company wants to insure can vary considerably. Part of our job is figuring out which options make sense for your situation.
And because your relationship is with our agency, you do not necessarily have to start over with someone new when the insurance company behind a policy needs to change.
You should not have to start over every time your insurance needs change.

Jackson is more than our address.
We live here, work here, volunteer here, and build relationships with many of the same people and organizations we see throughout the community.
To us, being a local agency means more than having an office in Jackson. It means participating, contributing where we can, and staying connected to the people and organizations working to make West Tennessee stronger.
That involvement keeps us focused on something that matters in insurance: behind every policy is a household, a business, an employee, a customer, or a neighbor with something that matters to them.
We want Guiding Star Insurance to be useful to the community whether someone is buying insurance from us or not.
WHAT TO EXPECT
You do not need to know the right insurance questions before you call us.
Most people do not spend their time studying policy forms, coverage limits, or insurance terminology. You should not have to. Bring us the situation, the concern, or even just the question. We can work through the insurance part together.
